Position Summary
We are looking for people that are passionate about serving others AND who are passionate about food! Must be very personable and outgoing- with the ability to greet and draw the attention of our customers to our delis. We are looking for a team player with exceptional communication skills- both written and verbal, as well as someone who can multitask and prioritize- all with a sense of urgency. The ideal candidate will have the ability to take orders from customers both in person and over the phone- prepare and serve both cold and hot deli foods- maintain a clean work environment- and consistently put the customer 1st!
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Slicing meats and cheeses.
- Preparation of fried food.
- Preparation of Rotisserie chicken.
- Assisting customers with full-service deli.
- Preparation of sandwiches both custom and per menu board.
- Take and record temperatures throughout a shift.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation through daily and weekly cleaning.
- Maintain safety protocols and be well versed in proper food handling technique per SERV Safe Guidelines.
- Maintain professional grooming and hygiene standards in accordance with Power Market Guidelines.
Education and Work Experience
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Basic knife proficiency
- Must have a basic understanding of the English language
- Must have basic math skills
- Ability to work independently- with effective time management and prioritization
- Ability to read, understand and follow through on directions- both written and Verbal
- Ability to adhere to the company attendance policy
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a food handlers’ certificate
- Must be sales oriented
- Ability to learn the functions and operations of necessary equipment including but not limited to:
- Deli Slicer
- Deep fryer
- Oven
- Flat top
- Thermometer
- Scales
- Hot Case
Physical requirements:
- Ability to bend, lift, and stand constantly- up to 4 hours- 8 hours per shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs unassisted
- Ability to work with various food materials with no negative allergic reactions
Work Environment:
- Must be able to work any shift- including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to tolerate basic cleaning chemicals used for routine housekeeping
- Must be able to maneuver on uneven surfaces
- Ability to work outside
- Ability to work in changing environments- including both extreme heat and cold
- Ability to work in loud environment
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 per hour
