Spalding Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator in Patuxent River, MD. Position Type: Full-Time
Work Site: Patuxent River, MD
Work Location: Hybrid remote/in-office. Candidates are required to work onsite at Patuxent River 4-5 days per month and must reside within 90 miles of Patuxent River.

Essential Functions:

• Install, configure, upgrade, and administer Oracle database software.
• Migrate Oracle databases from on-premises to cloud.
• Perform routine backups and recovery, including use of Oracle's datapump export and RMAN, integrated into Rubrik management platform.
• Monitor database information (including statistics on schemas, tables, indexes, and space usage) and auditing (database access, login failures, application usage, and password changes).
• Perform daily checks of database servers, confirming status of backups, exports, jobs, and storage.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve database connection and performance issues.
• Create, modify, and delete database accounts.
• Monitor and maintain database instances for DoD STIG compliance, apply fixes and mitigations, and maintain checklists.
• Occasional daily/evening/weekend on-site support for upgrades/patching is required.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications and Experience:
Required:

• Database administration (installation, configuration, upgrading, performance turning, etc) experience working with Oracle 19c or above required.
• Experience setting up and configuring Amazon RDS database instances required.
• Experience with performance tuning required.
• Experience migrating databases from on-premises to AWS cloud environments.
• CompTIA Security+ certification required (must show proof of cert prior to interview).

Security Clearance:
Active TS/SSBI clearance OR active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SSBI. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.

Education:
AA/AS degree and 3 years relevant experience OR high school diploma and 3+ years' experience.
