Position Overview
Apollo is seeking an Analyst/Associate to join its Real Estate Credit Finance team. The successful candidate will be a part of the team that predominantly focuses on analyzing and reporting on a commercial real estate credit portfolio in excess of $40 billion. The candidate will be exposed to a variety of structures including managed accounts, REITs, and insurance companies. This team works closely with the originations team, asset management, investor relations, legal, outside accounting firm and several outside vendors. This unique opportunity affords the candidate a dynamic view into the various reporting and accounting aspects of the commercial real estate credit, while also learning the business through coordination with various internal and external teams.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Support the CFO and Controller in the financial statement close process for public and private funds
  • Manage and monitor day to day cash transactions
  • Interact and coordinate with multiple groups such as Asset Management, Investment Team and Investor relations on ad-hoc and recurring requests/projects
  • Operate key detailed accounting model that monitors investments, debt and derivatives
  • Support the CFO and Controller on quarterly external reviews and annual audits
  • Compute and report IRRs for realized and in-place investments
  • Support the valuation team in analyzing and reporting on marks on commercial real estate debt investments
Qualifications & Experience
  • 2 - 4 years of public/private accounting experience; particularly in real estate or asset management / alternatives
  • Exceptional technical skills related information technology and systems
  • CPA or equivalent and strong U.S. GAAP and technical accounting expertise preferred
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Individual should have an interest in the credit/real estate markets and a desire to learn about the accounting for different financial products
  • Individual must have strong drive and initiative
  • Individual must be collaborative to effectively liaise with various internal departments and colleagues as well as able to work independently
  • Role requires individual to be nimble and flexible to balance multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
  • Knowledge of Anaplan and VPM are a plus
Pay Range
90,000-110,000
T he base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
