Job description
The Conagra Performance Systems (CPS) Coordinator will assist the Continuous Improvement Manager in the implementation and daily operations of CSD systems. The CPS Coordinator will support employee training, validations, skill element trees within the Continuous Skills Development (CSD) pillar. This role will assist the Continuous Improvement Manager by being a member of the CSD, Autonomous Manufacturing Development (AMD) and Focused Improvement (FI) pillars. This role will assist in the completion of CPS activities including interpreting, validations, AMD teams, FI activities. This role will translate materials from English to Burmese.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Understanding of basic Continuous Skills Development (CSD) training standards, such as Job Aids, One Point Lessons (OPL’s), and playbooks.
- Can understand the losses associated within the CSD pillar, and how to reduce/eliminate the losses.
- Able to communicate the different CSD losses to the appropriate parties to help close gaps.
- Understanding of the Validation standard work process
- Make updates to skill inventories and assign validations to employees.
- Run Alchemy Coach/Manager programs to support training needs
- Attend Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings to report out skill labor metrics to the Cell Leads.
- Assign/Close out action items to reduce process failures for the different production lines.
- Support/Run Unified Problem Solving (UPS) systems by attending meetings to get to the root cause of issues that meet a trigger.
- Update job role training curriculum when new training material has been created.
- Process Change Management (CM) requests through the change management tracker.
- Create monthly associate scorecards and training action plans to close training gap.
- Update new hire/cross training trackers to help minimize safety, quality, and production losses. Follow up with Training Feedback with employees to ensure training was effective.
- Train employees on the Trainer/Mentor/Validator process.
- Demonstrate Safety behaviors in support of company safety procedures with focus on zero injuries. This includes driving results though behavioral observations, participation in problem-solving (UPS) and daily trainings.
- Demonstrate Quality behaviors in support of quality work processes to include accurate documentation.
- Continuous Improvement: actively support the Conagra Performance System-CPS. Experience high performance work systems; 5S, working in teams, problem solving, auditing, validations, coach AMD teams, perform UPS and other loss analysis tools, and ability to develop One Point Lessons (OPL’s) and other training material.
- Learn, understand, and train line personnel on Daily Management Systems (DMS) to include understanding use of Health Checks to drive results. Collaborate with other Coordinators and Pillar owners in the development and deployment of CPS and DMS work.
- Work with and become proficient in the use of MS Office programs, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Assist in facilitating training to assigned teams for key AMD and problem solving/FI methodology tools, and CSD processes.
- Develop team members to understand, use, and track various metrics.
- Identify and appropriately address gaps during meetings.
- Develop a positive working relationship with team members.
- Support employee relations at the hourly level, encouraging involvement of all team members that demonstrates the value of their input and engagement in improving performance.
- Promote a safe and positive work environment, enforcing standards for food safety and food quality reflected in Safe Quality Food (SQF) as well as the regulations of governing agencies such as OSHA, FDA and EPA.
- Follow and comply with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
- Marginal tasksServe as a CPS coach. Responsible for coaching, training, and auditing equipment owners on DMS systems including 5S, CL, CIL, CO, UPS, and additional CPS related systems.
- Communicate effectively (including reading, writing, computer). Prepare and lead meetings as needed.
- Coordinators are flexible and will go to where the need is for them and attend meetings as needed. Work occasional overtime and or different shifts as required to complete CPS activities as well as facilitate trainings that may be needed for employees.
- Receive additional training as needed to perform duties and responsibilities.
- Perform other duties that the Pillar Lead may require.
- The ability to interact effectively and professionally with coworkers.
- Support Human Resources with onboarding new hires.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
- Experience working in a production, manufacturing or distribution environment for 6+ months
- Proficiency in MS Office Programs
- Experience in a continuous improvement environment
Preferred:
- Technical degree in related field
- English/Burmese Speaking
- Experience working in a food processing or packaging environment
- Ability to lead training in a manufacturing environment
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sit, stand, walk and climb stairs during time on duty
- May be subject to blood borne pathogens and other infectious illnesses, occupational hazardous materials and associated protective activities and donning personal protective equipment
- Computer skills and ability to operate monitoring equipment required
- Physically able to respond timely to emergency situations at facility
