Chef | Counter Specialist Job Opening

The Babylon Cheese Cellar is seeking a part time Cheese Specialist for our Babylon, NY location.

15-20 hours a week, 2-3 days per week.

Individual would be scheduled based on the needs of the business. MUST be flexible and have daytime, week-day, and some weekend availability.

**Must be available for weekend shifts and holidays**

Responsibilities include:

-responsible for spearheading out prepared foods menu, proven culinary training and background preferred

-lead the team in creating unique menu items, organizing structure and systems around our catering offerings

-knowledge in food safety, service, and production a plus

-assisting customers, comfortable selling cheese and gourmet specialty items. Ringing transactions, making change, stocking shelves, maintaining cleanliness of store, and occasional merchandising.

-slicing cheese and meats, creating platters, making sandwiches, and additional food prep work.

Candidate be MUST courteous, punctual, service oriented, and thrive in a small face-paced work environment. Ideal candidate has food or customer service experience. Candidate must be a self-starter and motivated when working independently.

-Must be able to stand for entire shift and lift up to 50 lbs. Stairs required to backstock area.

-Must have experience selling at an elevated, high level. Comfortable with sales goals and motivated to exceed expectations.

-Cheese knowledge not necessary, although a MAJOR bonus. Cheesemongers welcome!
