Mercy Multiplied exists to provide opportunities for all to experience God’s unconditional love, forgiveness, and life-transforming power. Mercy’s residential counseling program is voluntary, biblically-based, and helps young women ages 13–32 break free from life-controlling issues and situations, including anxiety, depression, abuse, eating disorders, self-harm, addictions, unplanned pregnancy, and sex trafficking. These residential services are offered free-of-charge. In September of 2020, Mercy Multiplied launched its first Mercy Multiplied Center for Wellness and Counseling in Monroe/West Monroe, LA offering free-of-charge outpatient counseling to that community. Our Outreach Services train and resource men and women to effectively support and minister to those who are hurting and struggling through workshops, videos, podcasts, discipleship teaching, and other practical resources.

We have an immediate need for a Counselor at our Center for Wellness and Counseling in St. Louis, Missouri.

Schedule:
36 hours/week
Compensation:
$25 - $27/hr

To be successful in this role, one must have the following:

• Must have (or be in the process of completing via Internship) a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in the field of Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field
• Must be eligible, or able to be eligible, for licensure in the state of Missouri (e.g., LPC, LMFT)
• Basic office skills (typing, filing, etc.)
• Ability to multi-task
• Capable of handling a counseling load of up to 20 female clients
• Able to work quickly and efficiently
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to be concise and direct
• Incumbent should be able to confront and address behaviors
• Must be a team player who is flexible
• Able to use sound judgment on a consistent basis
• Must have solid Biblical knowledge
• Must be flexible and available to be on call when scheduled

Summary of Responsibilities:
General Counseling Responsibilities for CWC St. Louis:

• Adhere to best practices in counseling, and legal and ethical requirements within CWC St. Louis.
• Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the CWC Counseling Manual.
• Counsel with assigned clients weekly which includes:
• Leading each client through the Choices that Bring Change.
• Completing all associated paperwork, including required readings, required assignments.
• Reviewing as submitted by the client.
• Meet with Lead Counselor on a weekly basis.
• Maintain electronic file for each client including counseling notes, confidentiality agreements, releases of information, commitment forms, and all other required forms outlined in the CWC Counseling Manual.
• Ensure that all phone calls and/or electronic communication (emails, text messages, Facebook/social media messages with family members, support people, outside professionals, etc.) are uploaded to the client’s electronic file under Counseling - Document Uploads Touchpoint.
• Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings.
• Complete discharge summary within the required timeframe when a resident exits the program.
• Weekly submit praise report and prayer request of client to Lead Counselor.

Licensure Responsibilities:

• Maintain proper licensure in your appropriate field by meeting all requirements for providing counseling services within the state of Missouri.
• Ensure continuous awareness of all state legal and ethical requirements as it relates to the field of counseling and communicate any changes to the Lead Counselor.
• Complete continued training that meets or exceeds all state legal and ethical requirements.
