JOB STATEMENT
Position is responsible for managing and directing the process of cost estimation and facilitating the completion of engineering documentation.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Estimate and review the internal cost of quotation requests;
- Collaborate with Sales to determine and execute the best strategy for securing new projects;
- Understand, review and execute the quote requirements within the established deadlines for negotiated quote, conceptual, design development and pricing estimates;
- Accurately estimate projects from concept through manufacturing phases;
- Establish best practices to ensure quote accuracy and on-time delivery;
- Perform a thorough review and analysis of all quote documents to ensure all information is available;
- Obtain and track quotations for non-forging processes from outside vendors;
- Competitively hard quote as well as provide proposals for design-quote-build projects, and be able to estimate conceptually;
- Work with Supply Chain to review vendor performance for entry on vendor scorecard;
- Prequalify subcontractors/vendors and, based on scope of work, develop a list of qualified subcontractor/vendors to send quotes. Monitor subcontractor/vendor list to ensure quote coverage; maintain strategic and ongoing communication with subcontractors/vendors. Review and qualify subcontractor/vendor bids;
- Assist Sales/Engineering with subcontractor awards as required;
- Seek out and qualify new subcontractors/vendors. Build, strengthen, and foster subcontractor/vendor relationships. Maintain regular communication with the subcontractors/vendors;
- Take an active role in industry associations and actively network;
- Communicate with subcontractors/suppliers for budgetary costs/unit price input;
- Identify key subcontractors for specific projects;
- Review estimates, subcontractor and supplier quotes for complete scope;
- Identify/manage value engineering opportunities to maintain project budget;
- Actively participate in efforts to establish and promote a safe and healthy work environment. Follow policies, programs, and procedures for the reduction and elimination of work-related accidents and provide feedback to promote safer work behaviors and conditions.
POSITION SPECIFICATION

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma required;
- Additional education or equivalent experience a plus;
- 1-3 years of experience in estimating and negotiating;
- Experience in forging and cost estimating preferred;
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and processes preferred but not required;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet, MRP systems, and other resources.

- Good analytical skills and pay close attention to detail;
- Good verbal and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, identify and address problems and meet deadlines;
- Professionalism and positive attitude are a must;

- Ability to be a critical thinker with strong problem solving skills;
- Ability to work assigned shift and remain awake and alert during assigned shift is required;
- Reporting to work for assigned shift, maintaining a physical presence and performing assigned work for the duration of assigned shift is required;
- Ability to work in a variety of environments which may include exposure to extreme heat, humidity, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, loud noise, and all-weather conditions.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
