Position Overview

Reporting to the COO, you will be responsible for leading a continuous improvement process leveraging your ability to identify and prioritize opportunities to eliminate waste, increase throughput and create functional capacity. You will need to effectively execute against the highest value opportunities by leading cross functional teams and efficiently deploying capital in a timely manner. The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader, driven to closure with a willingness to get into the details without losing the big picture.

Position Functions

• Working with the Manufacturing Team, optimize and then standardize manufacturing practices across 2 crust lines and 3 topping lines in two manufacturing sites.
• Lead efforts to reduce downtime by assessing downtime patterns, identifying opportunities, sponsoring initiatives, and executing on those initiatives in a timely manner.
• Gain collaborative support of manufacturing supervisor and shop floor employees through thought leadership and demonstrated functional competence.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify, prioritize, and complete projects.
• Analyze data from Red Zone to identify opportunities for process improvement. Assess existing Red Zone implementation for opportunities to capture and report against additional productivity measurements, compliance measurements and preventative maintenance measurements.
• Manage all Capital project build outs and equipment installations.
• Create & deliver engaging operational improvement presentations for shop floor through Board of Director level.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor of Science – Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Project management, or Engineering technology
• MBA preferred

Experience/Knowledge

• Track record of demonstrated productivity improvements, cost reductions and other measures of success in the food manufacturing industry, (frozen food a plus).
• 8 – 10 Years of experience in either Operations or Engineering.
• 2- 4 years of Consumer Product Goods, Fortune 500 experience preferred, then moved to middle market company so you’ve seen what good looks like and been able to implement it elsewhere with less resources.
• History of successfully managing capital projects of $1-15MM.
• Staff and Line experience a plus.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Technical Role Competencies

• Implementation of Lean and productivity enhancing software
• Experience with Red Zone a plus
• Project Management
