This position will prepare meals to serve or package for various populations from youth to adult and/or transport in bulk to satellite meal sites. In larger kitchens, this position will support a Senior cook in these duties. In smaller kitchens, this work may be done independently with the guidance of the Regional Manager and Assistant Director of Production.
- Previous kitchen experience is required.
- Knowledge of quantity cooking: the ability to follow standardized recipes and convert measurements to accommodate the number of meals needed.
- Knowledge of all kitchen equipment and utensils usage.
- Knowledge of Health Department regulations.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions, train, supervise, and direct site staff and volunteers.
- Represent LSS in a professional manner through adhering to dress code and personal hygiene practices.
- Represent LSS as the provider of this service, engaging with diners to promote a welcoming and inviting atmosphere
- Valid driver’s license preferred
The successful candidate must be cleared by a Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) background study and have a drivers’ license; a Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) is required.
