As a Cook you will prepare and cook delicious food for our residents here at Care Cardinal.

Essential Functions:

· Prepare tasteful, nutritionally balanced meals on pre-planned menus

· Prepare meals with consideration of resident’s preferences and food safety standards.

· Ensuring resident special diet are offered and prepared, recognizing, a resident right to choose.

· Complete dining room service, including set up, service and clean up with high hospitality standards

· Assist with inventory and maintain supplies in all common area kitchenettes

· Follow the sanitation schedule for the kitchen, equipment, and dinning room to maintain standards of sanitation and cleanliness

· Serve as a back up to the Chef for ordering adequate supplies weekly based menu, budget, current inventory, and storage capabilities

· Promote positive relationships with the residents, staff, and visitors

Qualifications and Skills:

· High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent

· Culinary arts courses (preferred)

· 1-2 years’ experience with cooking/baking in a commercial setting or a combination of education and work experience.

· Ability to read and prepare menus and recipes

· Working knowledge of rules and regulations to health and safety in food preparation

· Must have skills necessary to prepare dishes for special diets
