The Controller position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is based in South Florida (Pembroke Pines) and will be hybrid remote with one day a week in the Pembroke Pines office. Though South Florida is preferred, we are open to hiring this position fully remote from any state that IPSY has an established business presence in.

About the Role:

We are looking to hire an exceptional Controller to join our growing team at IPSY, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. The Controller will own and play a significant role in all core accounting functions, and help to define processes, procedures and expansion. The Controller will lead all day-to-day accounting operations including month end close while leading a team of team of accounting professionals. The Controller will have functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tax.

We are looking for an individual who values quality, can effectively lead through business transformation, and enjoys working in a fast-paced dynamic environment. This role will have significant interaction with the company’s leadership team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Oversee all aspects of accounting operations: AP, AR, Cash Management, Tax, Inventory Control and general accounting,
  • Ensure the timely and accurate closing of monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting in compliance with US GAAP and that the right processes are in place to deliver financial statement integrity in accordance with organization timelines
  • Develop strong internal control procedures, identifying opportunities to enhance process and controls across all business areas. Identify and implement process improvements and simplification initiatives,
  • Lead the preparation of the monthly reporting package to the leadership team (coordinate with appropriate parties, as appropriate); implement improvements, as needed,
  • Perform technical accounting research and accounting determinations on relevant transactions,
  • Oversee and coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors
  • Play a lead role in ERP and systems architecture transformation projects,
  • Own the company’s capitalization table – manage all employee stock option activities, 409A valuation, ASC 718 expense reporting, and other stock administrative functions,
  • Mentor, train and develop the accounting team with an emphasis on performance and communication
  • Oversee NetSuite maintenance of chart of accounts and reporting
  • Prepare and deliver reports to the Audit Committee and Board of Directors
  • Partner with FP&A to develop budgets and forecasts and lead cross-functional projets
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and leverage technologies
What We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelors and/or Master’s degree in Accounting or related field. CPA is required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of accounting/finance experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting expertise.
  • Experience in a company with eCommerce operations is a plus.
  • Pre-IPO and IPO experience a plus. Solid background in operating budgets, internal controls and SOX
  • Intimate knowledge of mid-size company financial platforms and standard Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to organize and complete large-scale projects and have a passion for process improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills: written, oral, and presentation.

For United States Remote Roles:
Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to one of the following states where IPSY has established a Business presence to be eligible for hire: Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Washington and Wyoming.

Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000 USD

Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location. In addition to your salary, IPSY also offers a bonus, equity grants and competitive benefits package. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
