Primary Responsibilities for the Area Controller in Tucson, AZ

As an Area Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our company's finances are in line with government regulations and contractual agreements.

• Manage receivables, payables, credit, payroll, and cash handling functions with the accounting department.
• Supervise a team of AR and AP professionals.
• Prepare financial analysis of hotel operations including variance explanation and recommend strategies to achieve financial goals/targets.
• Develop and implement financial control procedures and systems; ensure compliance with "Internal Control Checkup" program; maintain documents for audits of hotel accounts.
• Direct the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and reporting.
• Hire, train and provide career development for subordinates; conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees.
• Ensure the hotel is in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, including OSHA, EEOC, Wage Hour and Health laws.

Qualifications for the Area Controller role in Tucson, AZ:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in hospitality financial operations is a must.
• Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

Compensation for this role is up to $85,000, and we also offer bonuses based on performance. In addition to great compensation, we provide a full health insurance package and generous paid time off to ensure our employees have a proper work-life balance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
