Overview:
Reports to and is directed creatively by the Partner Development Manager. Forecasts, directs and manages weekly content calendar for website, newsletter and social media. Manages a team of writers, monitoring the results of various content campaigns and editing content pieces to ensure they follow KCM tone and style guides. Responsible for the professional, organized and thoughtful administration of the creative writing process. Directs, assigns and edits all content to be created, including, but not limited to, online content, blog posts, social media, email campaigns, articles, ads, books, curricula, catalogs, press releases, fliers, brochures, marketing letters, product back-liners, scripts, CD and DVD back liner copy. Serves as subject matter expert and ensures content accurately reflects the message of the ministry.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Forecasts, directs and manages weekly content calendar for website, newsletter and social media.
  • Responsible for the professional, organized and thoughtful administration of the creative writing process.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to produce various content pieces for various departments as requested.
  • Manages, directs and mentors a team of writers, including freelancers.
  • Edit content pieces for accuracy and to ensure they follow KCM tone and style guides.
  • Monitors and reports the results of various content campaigns
  • Edits content according to KCM and Associated Press style and ensures that all writing agrees with KCM teaching
  • Rewrites content as necessary
  • Writes original copy for a variety of content pieces as needed to achieve goals.
  • Stays abreast of the ministry's direction and focus and ensures that all content reflects that focus.
  • Establishes and maintains open communication with writers that fosters spirit of integrity, creativity and sensitivity to the leading of the Holy Spirit
  • Maintains a close and constant communication with the Partner Development Manager to ensure a constant awareness of all modifications/changes that affect the creative, accurate and timely inception, development and execution of his/her responsibilities
  • Conducts internal and external interviews as needed. Must do research in archives, historical information, policies, procedures, current meetings, and prophecies
  • Stays current with professional reading and market trends not only related to religious retailing, but also in business, technology, book markets, video, and current world events as they relate to the Body of Christ
  • Attends creative, comp, preplan and mid-point meetings as needed
  • Assists Partner Development Manager with enforcing new implementations regarding editorial style
  • Ensures that all writers/freelancers are up to date with changes/additions regarding editorial style and that such changes/additions are implemented
  • Communicate across departments for project information.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English or related field preferred, or the equivalent in verifiable experience.
  • MBA degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Continuing education in new media marketing techniques
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Advanced knowledge with writing and editing multiple styles/types of written content.
  • Experience creating coordinated content campaigns.
  • Must have strong command of the English language and its forms of colloquial use as it relates to publishing/journalism
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal/oral communication skills and have legible handwriting
  • Must have demonstrated ability to edit/write/proof various types of content
  • Is adequately familiar with Microsoft Word, , Excel and any other word-processing programs associated with the job assignment
  • Monitors and prioritizes assigned jobs according and maintains constant communication with Partner Development Manager to ensure steady and consistent workflow
  • Ability to manage and lead a team of writers and editors
  • Must have familiarity with SEO best practices and strategies
  • Must have familiarity with word of faith teaching in general and ability to present in print the specific teachings and voice of Kenneth Copeland Ministries with accuracy and relevant application
  • Working knowledge of and the Associate Press Stylebook.
  • Demonstrated ability to use resources (libraries, Internet, etc.), as well as religious reference materials (concordance, expository dictionaries, lexicons, Bibles) in fact-finding
  • An extremely self-starter that is able to think through situations and make responsible decisions
  • Must be able to manage high volume of work and be able to switch from job to job quickly, both mentally and physically
  • Ability to put people at ease and understand complex internal relationships and effectively manage delicate and or confidential information
  • Able to prioritize work efficiently, effectively manage time and be organized
  • High level of confidentiality required
  • Must have previous writing, editing experience
  • Prior publication experience as a writer or editor preferred
  • PC experience required
  • Knowledge of graphic arts/printing helpful but not required
  • The ability to type 50 wpm is preferred.

  • PC, telephone, copier, fax, printer, scanner
  • Resources materials, including but not limited to: KCM Style Manual, AP Stylebook, dictionary, various Bible versions, concordance, the Internet.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to sit at a computer for a minimum of seven hours per day
  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, telephones and other office equipment
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.

  • Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials, and articulate goals and action plans

  • Must maintain a good attendance record
  • Membership and attendance at EMIC are preferred
  • Because of the wide range of personal contact with ministry leaders within and outside the organization, this position requires considerable diplomacy, maturity, and excellent communication skills
