Job Description
Under the general direction of the Content Marketing Manager, the Content Marketing Specialist will be responsible for social media strategy and implementation, creating content for Redwood Neighborhood websites, email marketing, and supporting internal communications efforts at Redwood. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to write engaging social media, web and email content, create basic social media images and videos, and write internal and external communications to meet brand standards. In addition, the Content Marketing Specialist will help support larger marketing and communications initiatives impacting our department and other departments within Redwood. This is a highly collaborative role requiring teamwork and interdepartmental communications.
It is requested that all candidates supply writing samples or a link to a portfolio site. An editing test will be required as part of the interview process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Be the SME for social media at Redwood; Enhance social media strategy across all platforms
- Plan & create monthly social media content, working with other departments to maintain visibility of company initiatives
- Create content for new Redwood Neighborhood websites and make updates to existing sites where necessary
- Write compelling email copy for a variety of audiences; Create email templates using Redwood’s email system
- Work with the Content Marketing Manager and PR team to upload and share Newsroom and media content on Redwood websites and social channels
- Work with various departments to support internal communications strategy and execution at Redwood; collaborate on employee newsletter, all-company email creation, company intranet posts and articles etc.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices for internal communications
- Assist with content initiatives and other marketing requests as assigned.

Required Skills*
As the Content Marketing Specialist, you will be required to exhibit the following skills:
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency creating social media graphics in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or similar software
- Experience using WordPress or similar content management system
- Experience using Sprout Social, HootSuite, or similar social scheduling tool
- Basic knowledge of AP style
- Respectfulness, trustworthiness, empathy and teamwork
- The ability to work under pressure
- Excellent time management skills
- The ability to communicate and collaborate with employees at all organizational levels
- Proven ability to plan, organize and implement multiple tasks/projects on a concurrent, real-time basis

Required Qualifications, Education & Certifications*
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or related field
- 5+ years of experience producing content and editing in a communications, marketing, or web content development role

- Basic knowledge of SEO practices

Working Conditions*
This job operates in a professional office environment. In this role, the employee will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, desk phones, iPhone, photocopiers, etc. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend and walk with the ability to lift 20 pounds where applicable.
