Culver Franchising System is looking for a Construction Purchasing Manager to ensure the delivery of construction-related materials to all Culver's restaurants in a timely, cost-effective manner while maintaining positive relationships with all suppliers, distributors, team members and franchisees.

Essential Functions:
  • Source potential suppliers, supplier management and conduct successful price negotiations for key indirect procurement related categories such as restaurant related products and services (building materials supplies)
  • Maintain key categories by administering purchase agreements, contracts, RFQ’s or RFP’s
  • Act as a liaison on specification, development, and delivery changes between suppliers and internal departments such as Design Services, Menu Development, Operations, and restaurants as applicable
  • Monitor compliance of supplier contracts, pricing agreements and all onboarding documents
  • Manage suppliers to meet or exceed business expectations (service, value, reliability, risk management, transparency)
  • Develop and implement process improvement and cost savings strategies while leveraging operations with measurable financial results
  • Troubleshoot concerns from franchisees regarding products, services and distribution issues
  • Notify suppliers of product defects or quality assurance concerns found with their products and implement corrective action plan as necessary
  • Communicate product and distribution matters to our franchisees and field personnel in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Complete supplier business reviews, anticipates future supply needs and coaches supplier to achieve long range planning and development goals
  • Look for and assess risk related issues, communicate with Senior Leadership and appropriate stakeholders as needed, to take appropriate actions to address risk concerns
  • Assist in testing and development of new products which includes negotiating test parameters, preparation of written test protocols, selecting test site(s), coordinating installation and evaluating test results and working closely with the Operations team throughout the process
  • Monitor & forecast movement of products including strategy for minimizing excess or obsolete inventory positions
  • Source and analyze market reports and understanding product and commodity trends as well as their impact on product costs and the system
  • Four year degree in Supply Chain Management and 6 years experience or equivalent combination of related college education and experience
  • ISM Certification (CPM/CPSM) desired, but not required
  • Working knowledge of pricing agreement, contract language, product manufacturing, risk management, contingency planning, and Supply Chain Management for multi-unit concept
  • Fluency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. SharePoint a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with negotiation, vendor relations, and project management skills
