Job Overview
TCH University is an extensive program to prepare you for the role of Project Management in our industry. This program is an 8-week, paid, on-the-job training of all facets of our company and industry including; Production/ Manufacturing, Engineering, Estimating, and Construction Project Management. During the 8 weeks you will shadow and engage in learning classes directly from Managers within our Company.
Upon successful completion of the training program, combined with the willingness and motivation to keep growing and learning, you will be placed in a role that best fits your abilities displayed in the training program (Assistant Project Management, Estimator, Detailer) . Relocation opportunities may be available at our other locations.
During this training program, you will learn:
- Products specific to our industry (doors/frames/ hardware)
- Blueprint, plans and specification reading
- Fire and Safety codes
- Computer software specific to our industry (MBC, EPWS, cERP)
- Project budgeting
- Project Life Cycle
- Project Management skills (developing relationships, closing the sale)
- Negotiation skills
- Strategic pricing in a competitive bid market
- Gain knowledge and exposure to all TCH areas including; Sales- Commercial & Contract, Hollow Metal Shop, Wood Shop, Warehouse
Skills Requirements
- Inside /outside sales experience a plus
- Degree in Construction Project Management or experience preferred
- Division 8-Door/Frame/Hardware experience preferred, but not required
- Self-motivated individual who can manage their time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented individual that is able to juggle multiple projects and strict deadlines
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with great interpersonal skills
- Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, and comprehension
- Mechanical aptitude
- Proficient with Google Workspace or similar software, willingness to learn new software
- Must be able to reliably commute or relocate to Oakdale, MN
Working Conditions
Office environment involving extended periods of computer work; workstations allow standing or sitting. Warehouse/ Manufacturing environment subject to temperature changes and use of PPE. May include a wide variety of customer job sites, exposed to all weather conditions.
