Clad Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Construction Manager/Project Manager (Civil Engineer) to join their quickly expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing engineering firm in the San Luis Obispo area. This is a full-time hybrid position with a mix of onsite, remote, and office work – there is flexibility to better meet the candidate’s needs! Position Summary: Perform construction/project management oversight in overseeing construction and maintenance of public improvements and facilities such as roads, storm drains, infrastructure, grading, concrete, curbs and gutters, sidewalk, ADA compliance, and water and sewage infrastructure.

• Manage and/or inspect the construction, operations, or maintenance activities at project site.
• Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to improvement plans, design specifications, installation and testing standards, and safety.
• Work closely with contractors to ensure project completion.
• Understand topographic surveys, cut sheets, construction staking.
• Analyze improvement plans, reports, maps, drawings, aerial photography, geotechnical reports or other reports or data.
• Direct testing of soils or materials to determine compliance with the project specifications and design.
• Understand environmental concerns based on the project reports and conditions of approval.
• Inspect traffic control set-up, based on approved traffic control plans.
• Review and approve material submittals, and RFI’s.
• Inspect engineering activities, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, environmental, safety, or other governmental regulations.
• Prepare close out documents at project completion.

Ideal Candidate: You will have a strong background in engineering, construction management or project management, excellent communication skills, and have a thorough understanding of civil engineering policies and practices. Your background will include:

• Prior experience in a construction management, project management, or engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, agricultural engineering, construction/project management or related degree, or 7+ years’ experience in an Inspector/CM/PM role.
• Professional Engineering License preferred, but not required.
• Proficient in related computer software and technologies including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Thorough understanding of civil engineering policies and practices.
• Have the ability to regularly travel onsite in the San Luis Obispo and surrounding areas.

This position is located in the Arroyo Grande area. The pay range is $79,040 - $93,600 annually, depending on experience. This role is contingent upon a clean background check.
