Mechanical Estimator
SeaTac, WA (Hybrid Schedule)
Work for a premier mechanical contractor in the Pacific Northwest. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be a key player in the bid process, working closely with the Estimating team. This is an opportunity to learn more about new construction estimating from a collaborative team with deep experience in the industry. The ideal candidate will have some experience in pre-construction, estimating, commercial, or mechanical construction, but they are willing to train as well!
Mechanical Estimator Responsibilities:
- Assist the Estimating Manager with a diverse set of project types and delivery methods inclusive of plans, specifications, design assist, and design build.
- Assess project RFP documents, specifications, design drawings, and pre-bid sessions, to determine scope of work, required content and structure of the estimate with defined deliverables.
- Develop complete, accurate and timely detailed estimates representing the mechanical system costs and associated general conditions, with required overhead and profit for each project.
- Assist the Estimating Manager with quantitative take-offs of HVAC and plumbing systems for plan/spec and design build projects.
- Evaluate and apply labor productivity factors, establish general conditions and determine site logistic approaches to integrate into the overall cost basis for each unique project estimate.
- Coordinate quote requirements with manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors for quality assurance and specification compliance.
- Calculate system sizing of ductwork, piping, and plumbing as needed to provide a complete layout for estimating purposes.
- Analyze the contract terms and project specifications to determine the best approach to structure the estimate details to support the identified unique project requirements and costs.
- Assist the Estimating Manager with maintaining and reviewing cost analysis data for each project completed.
- Utilize various software programs and databases to establish total costs for the project.
Mechanical Estimator Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in construction.
- Some higher education in Construction Management, Engineering, Drafting, Business, or any related field is preferred, but not required.
- Self-starting, self-motivated, and effective time manager.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Detail oriented, with the ability to visualize and navigate three dimensional virtual environments.
- Tech savvy, with the ability to collaborate with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.

Compensation: $75,000 - $82,000 + bonuses and benefits
