The Compensation Manager is responsible for providing guidance and consultation on compensation programs and strategy. The Compensation Manager will advise managers and HR Partners on compensation issues including job evaluations, new hire and promotional compensation, base salary, annual incentive plan, and other compensation programs.
Responsibilities
- Manage the annual merit planning process
- Administer the annual incentive plan and communications
- Develop and update annual salary structure changes
- Evaluate new and updated jobs; analyze job responsibilities and requirements and recommend internal grade and title.
- Provide analysis and recommendations on market trends related to compensation programs and policy
- Enhance, design and refine compensation plans; lead plan design; develop and recommend plan options by modeling and analysis. Ensure all compensation plans are competitive and drive performance.
- Keep abreast of relevant trends, regulation changes and literature pertaining to compensation.
- Administer market compensation data tools
- Update jobs and markets, analyze market data and review internal salary ranges.
- Develop job hierarchy architecture and career paths
- Develop and maintain governance to the compensation policies and processes including
- Integrity of titles and salary ranges
- Short term incentive targets
- Ad hoc salary adjustment requests
- As hoc promotional increase requests
- Ensure internal equity and pay parity across the organization
- Develop and maintain internal job descriptions
- Maintain internal job code structures and grades
- Participate in compensation surveys
- Review offers; develop compensation packages for internal moves and external hires.
- Conduct market analysis to ensure pay levels adequately reflect market practices.
- Conduct audits to ensure internal equity and compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Provides education and guidance on compensation issues which allow management to effectively attract, retain and reward their employees in line with the Justrite Compensation Philosophy.
- Work collaboratively with HR Partners and line management to ensure compensation program design complements organization design initiatives. Design and implement special comp programs as necessary to meet objectives.
- Manage large, complex projects. Responsible for planning, execution, and completion of assigned projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 6-8+ years’ experience in Compensation
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation a plus.
- Advanced analytical skills and the ability to get into the details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture
- Demonstrate high proficiency in Excel
- Ability to take on responsibility and manage multiple critical deliverables in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the company.
- Experience with UKG Pro a plus
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
- Strong business acumen and the ability to understand business strategies, objectives and key performance metrics.
- Knowledge and experience with state and federal labor laws and regulations as it relates to compensation
- Ability to work collaboratively across different functions and effectively influence business partners at all levels
- Highly organized and able to constantly reprioritize work to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present to multiple levels of the organization.
