Job description

Growing Property Management Company is seeking versatile, energetic, friendly, full-time Community Association Managers. As we grow, we are searching for experienced managers who are CAM licensed and can jump right into portfolio management as well as those who are interested in becoming Junior Managers until fully trained/licensed.

Duties will include:

  • Community association management. I.E. financial management (reviewing the budget and financial statements), rule enforcement, and oversight of maintenance.
  • Responding to customer inquiries and issues. Answering phone calls and e-mails from residents with issues of all kinds, whether it's a missing payment, an inconsiderate neighbor, an irresponsible contractor, or anything else.
  • Managing vendors and contractors. Scheduling and meeting with contractors to solicit bids or perform work at a property.
  • Improving operations. Our company is growing! We will be looking for all employees to contribute to the ongoing improvement of our business so that we can provide better service to more customers with fewer people.

You should have the following attributes and skills:

  • Previous experience in the Real Estate industry.
  • Property management experience is a plus!
  • CAM (Community Association Manager) license is a plus!
  • Excellent writing skills. It is essential to our customers that they receive thoughtful, concise, timely responses to their concerns. Much of this communication occurs over e-mail. You will have to be a good writer to manage these interactions (which are sometimes with difficult personalities!).
  • Excellent technology skills. Most of your day will be spent in front of a computer. You should be comfortable using our property management software, working with files of all different types, producing documents in Google Apps, etc. More than any specific skill, you should be comfortable with the web, and able to learn new technologies quickly and with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. You will have to manage a wide range of personalities with a wide range of opinions, both over the phone and in person. You should be a friendly, outgoing person who can represent the company well in all situations.
  • Flexibility and humility. There are aspects of this job that are not glamorous; you must be comfortable with that, and willing to pitch in and do what needs to be done.
  • Excellent organizational skills. You will be working with multiple boards and residents divided among dozens of properties spread all over the northwest suburbs. Each month, you will be responsible for accurately processing checks, paying bills, answering e-mails in a timely manner, making and keeping many appointments, working with lots of files, and more. Mistakes can be very costly. We have established excellent, efficient systems to facilitate this work, but you need to have strong organizational skills and be attentive to detail to use the systems effectively.
  • The ability to work independently. We will provide training and will set goals, and will provide the technology and systems for you to achieve those goals. You will be empowered to make decisions and will be held accountable for your decisions.
  • Reliable transportation. We will need you to visit properties. You will be reimbursed for the cost of mileage on your vehicle to and from properties.

If this sounds like a good fit, read on! Here is what we are offering in compensation, benefits, and professional development:

  • Salary based on experience.
  • 10 vacation days + 5 sick days + 7 federal holidays.
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Short-term and long-term disability at no cost to the employee.
  • After initial training, the company provides flexibility to work remotely. (Final discretion is determined by your immediate supervisor).
