Job description
- Execute daily production list as delegated by supervisors. Ensure understanding of amounts and techniques to be used in preparation.
- Follow set recipes and batch sizes and prepare ingredients accordingly.
- Adhere to established HACCP, USDA & FDA safety and sanitation procedures for food handling and preparation.
- Follow all directions accurately and in accordance with established production guidelines.
- Manage equipment time, assist other staff as needed.
- Follow proper procedures in cleaning department areas and equipment as outlined in the company SOP’S.
- Follow company safety guidelines in regards to lifting, knife handling, equipment operation, etc.
- Recognize and inform supervisor of ingredient shortages and out of stocks.
- When preparations assembly and cooking tasks are completed, follow the HAACP guide lines for storing unused ingredients, with attention to accurate labeling and dating.
- Participate in kitchen-cleaning side work and inventory days as directed.
- Maintain accurate records as required.
- Pull old or low-quality items, record and properly dispose of them, following established procedures.
- Maintain department equipment in working order and advise Commissary Manager of any repairs or needs.
- Follow safety, storage and labeling procedures.
- Take initiative to increase your own product knowledge.
- Orient and be helpful to new employees.
- Set a positive example for co-workers.
- Attend department team meetings and huddles.
- Communicate in a professional manner and with respect. Use appropriate language, behavior, appearance and overall conduct with or in the presence of customer, vendors, and store personnel according to WF policies.
- Perform other tasks assigned by Commissary Manager.
- Maintain an environment of positive communication among store personnel in order to promote stronger work teams.
