Position Summary:

Develop and implement basic programs to control machining or processing of parts by automatic machine tools, equipment or systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Determine the sequence of machine operations and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into the desired shapes.
• Revise programs to eliminate errors and retest programs to check that problems have been solved.
• Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds and feed rates.
• Observe machines on trial runs or conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs and machinery will function properly and produce items that meet specifications.
• Directs machine designation with individual area supervisors
• Conducts program development and implementation.
• Provides programming services to all tool, mold and machine shop functions to ensure maximum productivity is attained
• Ensures maximum quality of products is enhances and improved.
• Reviews machine parts, mold drawings and 3D models received from the engineering department or outside vendors with appropriate area supervisor to determine complexity and create the appropriate machining strategy.
• Perform programming by inputting geometry from engineering department or outside vendors into proper language for machine usage.
• Create proper tool path by utilizing advance knowledge of machine capabilities and efficiencies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience

• Basic programming skills with a minimum of three (3) years CNC operation.
• MasterCam experience required.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required
• Must have strong attention to detail
• Ability to interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
• Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential
• Should have a positive and professional attitude

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in productions of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
• Ability to work accurately in a fast paced environment
• Demonstration of a strong work ethic and is a self-starter
• Ability to determine causes of operating errors
• Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
• Ability to adhere to structured work guidelines and schedules
• Ability to read and follow visual cues
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to work individually and as a team
• Ability to give operating instructions
• Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications

Work Environment:

Office / Manufacturing environment. Employee may be occasionally exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, painting etc.

This is an office-based position that requires walking, sitting, standing, bending, driving, reading, seeing, hearing, speaking, concentrating, and communicating.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
