Position Summary:
Develop and implement basic programs to control machining or processing of parts by automatic machine tools, equipment or systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Determine the sequence of machine operations and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into the desired shapes.
- Revise programs to eliminate errors and retest programs to check that problems have been solved.
- Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds and feed rates.
- Observe machines on trial runs or conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs and machinery will function properly and produce items that meet specifications.
- Directs machine designation with individual area supervisors
- Conducts program development and implementation.
- Provides programming services to all tool, mold and machine shop functions to ensure maximum productivity is attained
- Ensures maximum quality of products is enhances and improved.
- Reviews machine parts, mold drawings and 3D models received from the engineering department or outside vendors with appropriate area supervisor to determine complexity and create the appropriate machining strategy.
- Perform programming by inputting geometry from engineering department or outside vendors into proper language for machine usage.
- Create proper tool path by utilizing advance knowledge of machine capabilities and efficiencies.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Basic programming skills with a minimum of three (3) years CNC operation.
- MasterCam experience required.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Ability to interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
- Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential
- Should have a positive and professional attitude
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in productions of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
- Ability to work accurately in a fast paced environment
- Demonstration of a strong work ethic and is a self-starter
- Ability to determine causes of operating errors
- Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Ability to adhere to structured work guidelines and schedules
- Ability to read and follow visual cues
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to work individually and as a team
- Ability to give operating instructions
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
Work Environment:
Office / Manufacturing environment. Employee may be occasionally exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, painting etc.
This is an office-based position that requires walking, sitting, standing, bending, driving, reading, seeing, hearing, speaking, concentrating, and communicating.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
