Summary
This is the third (advanced) level of Machinists. Performs the most complex machining and fitting of all kinds of parts, tools, and machines in support of production operations or job shop machining. Lays out work from blueprints and written specifications. Set up operates and programs all available machine tools and performs progressive machining operations work involving very close tolerances or unusual requirements. Determines operation sequences. Familiar with working properties of all materials.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Ensures maximum levels of production through proper operation of machinery; recommends new and more efficient processes.
2. Able to perform intermediate level programming in the manufacturing of parts.
3. Possess knowledge working properties of all materials.
4. Sequences and performs machining of parts and products in accordance with drawings, specifications and material requirements.
5. Follows proper operating procedures and maintains proper records in accordance with plant management system.
6. Follows all safety guidelines including utilization of proper PPE.
7. Keeps work area clean and organized to insure safety and environmental compliance.
8. Produces quality parts while meeting scrap and rework standards; through proper in-process inspection.
9. Maintains quality standards on all parts being produced through proper use of measuring devices and fixtures.
10. Maintains production records to avoid costly errors.
11. Performs Machine set-ups, tool offsets, edits and troubleshoots programs without supervision; aids less experienced personnel in these activities.
12. Demonstrates positive relations and teamwork as established in the IMI Way and Leadership Blueprint within the organization.
13. Aids in the training of lower level Machinist’s.
14. Recognizes and resolves tooling wear and other production problems.
15. Must meet all requirements of Machinist Level II position as listed in the Job description.
16. Able to program mill and lathe.
17. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Formal GD&T training
3. Technical training/certification required
4. 5+ years previous experience as a Machinist.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
