The MDC operates as a nonprofit "Center of Excellence", developing and providing hearing, speech and language services and programs to the Colorado community, including persons with a limited ability to pay. Clinic Services Coordinator Summary:
The Clinic Services Coordinator is responsible for answering questions regarding billing, insurance claims, and advertising promotions. The Clinic Services Coordinator acts as back up for the Patient Care Coordinator and may greet patients, answer the phones, schedule appointments, complete administrative processing, recordkeeping, and 3rd party billing. The position supports the mission of the clinic by demonstrating excellent patient care and incorporating marketing outreach and patient retention calls as needed.
Clinic Services Coordinator Functions:
Accounting Functions
- Maintains accounts receivables and/or accounts payable
- Provides regular financial reports
- Processes and files insurance claims, including submitting appropriate information to the insurance carriers, and requests third party prior authorization as needed
- Assist patients with insurance related problems, questions, or concerns
- Responsible for implementing collections practices
- Collects and records payments
- Posts charges, returns, and exchanges in the accounting system
- Prepares invoices and prints HCFA forms
- Works with insurance, or other agencies to facilitate authorizations and benefit verification
- Generates patient bills after receiving Explanation of Benefits information from the insurance carriers
- Reissues bills if account is 30 days overdue
- Contact patients who have accounts that are 60 days overdue, and may initiate collections procedure
Customer Service
- Retrieves phones messages and prioritizes return phone calls
- Answers incoming calls and answers patient questions
- Distributes and obtains appropriate forms, including new patient information, insurance information, and other forms as needed for patients
Office Equipment and Product Knowledge
- Plans overall utilization of computer capabilities
- Opens and sorts incoming mail
- Maintains office supplies and orders supplies as needed
- Manages and maintains communications and relationships with third party vendors related to business operations
Miscellaneous Duties
- Assists patients with exchanges or returns as needed
- Distributes marketing material as needed
- Completes all insurance filing
- Prepares daily, weekly and monthly reports as directed
· Establishes and maintains good public relations
· Practices good safety habits
· Exercises confidentiality to ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations
· Performs all other miscellaneous duties as assigned

We are looking for a bright, organized, and efficient individual who possesses the following skills and abilities:
· Must be high school graduate. Prefer an Associates or Bachelors degree in accounting, business, or equivalent healthcare work experience
· Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse patient, colleague, and vendor population. This includes listening, sales, and problem-solving skills
· Ability to input and track sales revenues and balance accounts daily, weekly, and monthly
· Must be able to organize time and prioritize numerous duties within strict deadlines
· Requires the ability to deal with numerous interruptions
· Must engage with patients in a caring and respectful manner
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
· Frequently requires sitting, using hands, reaching and twisting
· Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds with or without assistance
· Standing and walking throughout the day
· The work environment is generally quiet, with moderate noise from phones and other business office machines
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $37,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
