Job description

Clinical Coordinator (Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field)

We are seeking a bachelor’s level clinician for a full-time (1.0 FTE/40 hours) Clinical Coordinator position at the CEDAR Clinic, a program of the Brookline Center for Community Mental Health. The CEDAR Clinic is one of the state’s leading centers for evaluation and treatment of young people aged 12-30 and their families who are at high risk for developing psychosis. Our mission is to reduce the chances that an individual will develop a psychotic disorder, reduce stigma, and support client’s, their families, and other providers in understanding and managing psychosis-risk.

At the CEDAR Clinic, the clinical coordinator will provide clinical services (school and work coaching, a direct care service, as well as supporting clients and families through the referral process) as well as providing administrative support. The clinician serving in this role will receive specialized training in the assessment and treatment of psychosis-risk and will have opportunities for both continued learning and career development both at CEDAR and through the Brookline Center. There is also the opportunity to do independent research projects utilizing the clinic database. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who wishes to gain some experience in the mental health field in preparation for graduate school in the human services field.

The Brookline Center has been known throughout its history for ground-breaking, high quality, accessible mental health care. In response to today’s mental health landscape, the Center is re-imagining its core work as the transform of mental health care through the design, development and dissemination of mental health programs and services at the intersection of systems. While our outpatient clinic cares primarily for children and adults in Brookline and neighboring communities, much of the Center’s work extends beyond Brookline and has a statewide, regional, and national impact.

The CEDAR clinic is a program of the Brookline Center, located at 41 Garrison Road, Brookline, MA. Our website is: https://cedarclinic.org/. CEDAR is staffed by an interdisciplinary team that includes psychology, psychiatry, nursing and trainees from different disciplines. The CEDAR clinic and CHR-P research programs see youth and families that are richly diverse in ethnicity/culture, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, and clinical presentation.

If you are interested in shaping the future of mental health and ensuring that care is effective and equitable for all, we would love to meet you.

We are actively interested in ensuring that the Brookline Center for Community Mental Health represents a range of experiences and backgrounds. Qualified candidates with diverse racial, cultural, multilingual, religious, class, and/or gender background, and experiences are strongly encouraged to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support clients, families, and health care providers in screening referrals and scheduling evaluations as needed
  • Support clients and families in completing registration paperwork and gather baseline and outcomes data as needed, including conducting the clinical interviews required by our DMH grant funding as needed
  • Provide individual school and work coaching to CEDAR clients as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team
  • Provide case management support for CEDAR clients
  • Attend treatment team meetings and participate in weekly discussions about clients
  • There will be opportunities to observe and participate in training and seminars at CEDAR and in community settings

Qualifications for position:

  • A strong desire to learn and work in a team-based environment.
