VCA TLC and Los Angeles Veterinary Specialist located in the heart of West Hollywood is a fast paced General Practice and Internal Medicine Specialty Hospital that also provides Urgent Care Services to referring veterinarians and pet owners throughout Southern California.
Why We Need You
Your role sets the tone for the practice as we build and maintain each customer's trust and confidence in our abilities. With every opportunity, we aim to meet and exceed each pet owner’s expectations. The CSR is the pivot around which the hospital operates and is responsible for:
- Customer service functions, including: greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms.
- Scheduling and confirming appointments.
- Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients.
- Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments.
- Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions.
- Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control).
- Be familiar with infectious and common zoonotic diseases; including prevention, and the steps to reduce or eliminate transmission
- Differentiate and prioritize between routine cases and emergency cases and alert staff accordingly
- Handle all cash and credit card transactions including deposits and invoicing.
- Managing electronic medical records, reports and correspondence
Qualifications
- Able to work weekdays and weekends
- Able to multi-task in fast paced environment
- Excellent listening and communication skills and the desire to learn and grow your Veterinary Career
- Compassion for pets and people—as well as awareness and understanding of others’ reactions
- Proven decision-making skills to choose the most appropriate course of action
- The ability to integrate new information into problem-solving
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required
- Good Attendance and Reliability is required
- Client Service Experience is required.
- Veterinary Experienced is Preferred.
- Possess a good attitude and contribute to a positive work environment
- Knowledge of and ability to use medical abbreviations
We offer competitive compensation and great benefits for eligible employees, including medical/dental, generous personal pet care discounts and more! Pay is dependent on experience $16-$22 per hour.
