Chief Operating Officer

$125,570 - $175,802 annually

Responsible for directing, managing and overseeing the activities and operations relating to multiple departments, including the Public Services Department, and other areas as assigned by the City Manager. Serve as City Manager upon the request or absence of the City Manager.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required.
• Minimum of three years, five years preferred, of increasingly responsible higher-level leadership experience as a department director, preferably in a public services capacity.
• Minimum of three years of increasingly responsible experience in higher-level management, with official supervisory experience. Preference given to candidates who have held a director level, Assistant City Manager, or Chief Administrative position in a municipal government organization.
• Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, business administration, engineering or a closely related field, Master’s Degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed below.

LICENSING and CERTIFICATION

• Possession of a valid Wyoming Driver’s License preferred.
