Job description
The Emerging Tech & Data organization at Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products (DPEP) advances business transformation through innovative application of data and emerging technologies such as machine learning/AI, NLP, CV, AR/VR, and digital/physical solutions. The team has responsibility for the data ecosystem used by a large community of users, including technology, product, and business teams, among others. It ensures the segment is positioned for success with groundbreaking technologies, while de-risking product development and optimizing delivery cost through rapid experimentation.
This Chief of Staff position will support the Vice President of the Emerging Tech & Data organization, acting as a force multiplier in carrying out vision and strategies. This role will handle operations and communications across the portfolio, including defining and running the team’s internal operating model, driving intra-team communications, preparing leadership reporting and deliverables in support of DPEP’s Tech & Digital top line operations, and preparing and leading executive and cross-team communications strategies and materials. This position will partner and coordinate with other Chiefs of Staff across the segment, supporting critical initiatives that span multiple organizations, and helping to drive consistency and collaboration. This position is also critical to crafting and actively owning the “public face” of the team, communicating services and successes, and keeping external collaborators and business partners engaged with exciting and relevant messaging.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and roll out optimized portfolio operating model, including team and leadership meeting cadences, agendas, communications channels, governance, and oversight.
- Coordinate team meetings (town halls, management meetings, executive updates, etc.), including planning, agenda, actions, and follow-up.
- Ensure preparation, agendas, and pre-work for leadership meetings are understood and happening in a coordinated way so that meetings are highly productive and follow-up/accountability measures are in place.
- Coordinate, prioritize/sequence, and communicate portfolio activities across different parts of the organization, while anticipating and mitigating risks or challenges.
- Identify business operations needs and touchpoints, and plan/coordinate required actions and deliverables to ensure proactive participation and representation in relevant forums.
- Act as a critical point of contact for the team to ensure key processes and initiatives are aligned and accomplished. This includes partnership with finance, resource management, human resources to align activities including budget management and planning, risk management, support for organizational changes and ambitions, and delivering accurate and timely inputs to the corporate planning process.
- Lead goals and metrics for the Emerging Tech & Data Portfolio. This will include working with leaders to develop data and measurement standards, defining consistent measurement efforts that align with business outcomes, and communicating progress against OKRs (Objectives and Key Results).
- Participate in crafting portfolio-specific reporting, including scorecards, roadmaps, and status updates.
- Prepare compelling technical presentations and updates for internal audiences.
- Support/assist the VP with cross-functional critical initiatives, facilitate special projects, and ensure action items are implemented.
- Serve as liaison between staff, executives, senior leaders, and VP regarding company climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning.
- Support Cast development, recognition, and inclusion.
- Help to develop a creative brand for the organization, providing consistency within decks, documentation, and internal Cast communications.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years’ relevant experience in a technical product development environment

- Technical literacy: Conversant in digital technology, with general understanding of software development and testing methodology.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
The hiring range for this position in CA is $145,600.00 to $200,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
