As our firm expands, we seek an exceptional individual with tremendous potential and upside to join our team as a remote Chief of Staff, reporting directly to William Abecassis, Managing Partner and previous founder of BlackRock's $1B+ venture group. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain in-depth exposure to the inner workings of our firm, offering an immersive learning experience including the end-to-end investment lifecycle from deep market research to diligence to active co-building of cutting-edge new companies disrupting their industries.
In addition to William, you will also work closely with the Senior Partner team, including LizAnn Eisen, the former Deputy Director of the SEC’s Division of Corporate Finance, Dr. Sean Khozin, Senior Life Sciences and Healthcare Partner, a leader in life science development and data science including experience at CancerLinQ, J&J and the FDA, Bradford Wilkins, former CHRO of several unicorn tech companies and recognized thought leader on the topic of human capital as well as other Braveneers, strategic advisory board members, investors/LPs and founders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES…
Build and maintain relationships with Senior Partners, including undertaking projects within the firm to align business objectives, streamline organizational processes, and ensure effective team collaboration. This includes creating leverage for the Senior Partners by conducting research followed by synthesis of findings into robust, insightful viewpoints, drafting and editing communications, memos and reports as well as preparing/formatting presentations and other tasks as needed
Responsible for driving the use of project management best practices and technology across the entire Braven team to ensure effective planning, execution, and measurement of strategic and tactical initiatives including investment research, outreach, diligence, on-boarding and proactive co-building
Optimize our communication, events and engagement with LPs, advisory network and other key strategic alliances, including ensuring the cleanliness of Salesforce. Also, proactively improve our content marketing including both developing and partnering with external contractors for social content, thought leadership pieces and opportunities for the Senior Partners to speak at events, online or to media
- Serve as the external point of contact for the Managing Partner and Senior Partners’ calendars and travel arrangements. Arrange detailed travel plans, itineraries, reservations, and in-depth research on meeting attendees for the Senior Partners and extended team as needed. Keep abreast of the Senior Partners’ immediate and long-term commitments and plans to ensure follow-up and, where necessary, identify conflicts, flags problems for intervention and corrects course as appropriate
- Support our Senior Partner, Head of People, with recruiting initiatives and reporting as well as internal culture initiatives (i.e. planning and managing bi-weekly All Hands meetings, engagement events, and in-person meetings
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE TO PREPARE YOU FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY:
At least one year of experience exposing you to foundational and transferable skills/knowledge at either a consulting firm, financial services investment firm or early stage technology company
Driving multiple high-impact initiatives in a changing environment by leveraging strong program management skills, especially those which innovate, improve business execution, and/or span multiple products and teams
Adept at swiftly adapting to new environments with diverse challenges requiring rapid learning and synthesis. Solid track record of high performance and substantial impact through information gathering and analysis, hypothesis formulation and testing, and clear communication of recommendations with the ability to follow through on execution
Leveraging technology and learning new stacks where necessary; for us Salesforce/Marketo is foundational to our communication strategy and Linear is our current project management tool
Demonstrated ability to manage and drive multiple concurrent initiatives in a dynamic environment, leveraging strong program management skills
Proficiency in delivering top-tier deliverables through professional work tools, including exceptional executive-quality presentations using Google Slides, polished formal proposals with Google Docs/Word, advanced formulas and analytical skills employing Google Sheets/Excel (bonus for leveraging other code bases to create greater efficiencies) and increasingly fluence at utilizing AI beyond ChatGPT
