What we’re looking for in our Chief Financial Officer
- 5+ years of Controller or Vice President of Finance level experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong background in financial analytics and experience using Microsoft Power BI.
- Demonstrated ability to build financial capabilities.
- Proficiency with and knowledge of all pertinent accounting rules and regulations, including GAAP.
- Proven experience in improving internal processes and procedures.
- Accounting software proficiency (beyond QuickBooks); proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Decisive with a "big picture" perspective as well as versed in systems.
- Strong ability to provide strategic solutions at the highest level of the organization.
- Strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus.
- Successful track record of leading and managing teams.
- Well-organized and self-directed; strong analytical, attention to detail and sound decision-making skills.
- Intelligent and articulate in relating to people at all levels of an organization with excellent communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills with experience in contracts.
- Experience with a dispersed workforce and multi-state taxes is a plus.
To be successful as a Chief Financial Officer, you have:
- Ability to work onsite near our Scottsdale office. (Hybrid is possible in the future but not at the start).
- Senior-level management experience.
- Progressive financial/accounting experience.
- Project management skills.
- Proficiency with Accounting Software Systems; strong analytical skills; experience in budget processes, financial planning & analysis, and organizational development.
As the individual responsible for the financial transactions in the company and leading a team of direct reports, your role will be critical in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization. In addition, your responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance.
- Manage company finances and guide how the company manages growth, revenue, and expenses and to achieve its goals.
- Compiling financial reporting, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, coordinate audits and timely filing of tax returns.
- Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends in order to assist the CEO/President, the Board, and other staff in performing their responsibilities.
- Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and organization’s effectiveness.
- Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board, evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and development of solutions to business challenges.
- Advise from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the Company may enter.
- Responsible for the state and federal tax relationships, reporting, filings, and deadlines.
- Develop, lead, and maintain relationships with insurance providers, banks, and other vendors and stakeholders.
- Compile and present quarterly reports and data as well as participate in the Traction EOS leadership meetings.
