Angelo Caputo's Fresh Markets is expanding in the Chicagoland Marketplace. We have immediate openings for Chefs within our retail grocery operations. The Chef will effectively direct and supervise all activities within the department and its personnel to achieve established sales, merchandising and customer service goals.

Chef Responsibilities:

· Menu development, recipe creation, ingredient sourcing, and presentation

· Train and manage their team in the proper execution of all kitchen operations

· Maintain a high level of sanitation and safety in their area of responsibility at all times

· Ensure all food orders are prepared in a timely and efficient manner

· Monitor food quality and take corrective action when necessary

· Work with the purchasing department to source the highest quality ingredients

· Create new and innovative dishes which exceed customer expectations

· Stay up-to-date on trends in the food industry

· Effectively manage sales, margins and cost to a profitable level

· Receive feedback and make improvements when necessary

· Must have expert multitasking abilities

· Great leadership and interpersonal skills

· Exemplary work ethic in a high-pressure environment

· Passion and pride for delighting people with food

· Conducting inventories

Performs other duties as needed or assigned by the store director or operations.

Ability to:

· Lead others within the department, following and setting goals and objectives and holding the team accountable for their performance.

· Work efficiently to accomplish assigned duties

· Develop and oversee large scale food production

· Communicate effectively at all levels within Caputo's Fresh Markets

· Handle customer complaints in a professional and courteous manner

· Effectively work through others

· Remain flexible in working evenings, weekends and holidays as the business dictates

· Use knowledge of food handling procedures to ensure quality and sanitation

· Utilize organizational skills to help them manage their time and resources effectively

· Use their creativity to develop new items and recipes

· Manage budgeting skills to properly staff the department

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
