A local, independently owned restaurant group is seeking a passionate, creative and experienced Chef to join our management team. We are looking for some one to lead the charge in the growth of Gigi's Cafe savory and bakery programs. This job is ideal for a savory chef who is passionate about baking and excited to work with our bakery team and Culinary Director to broader our pastry case and savory menus. We are looking for someone who is a self starter with a positive attitude and who is exited to work with a team in growing our company. For someone who is ready to set the bar high for standards around quality, customer service and community engagement and is willing to hold their teams accountable. Chef will be responsible for inventories, ordering, scheduling teams, working with FOH supervisors, and food costing.

Ideal candidates will:

  • Consistently produced and oversee production of bakery and savory products
  • Understand this is a hands on roll and production is expected
  • Create a work environment that promotes teamwork, strong performance, feedback, recognition, mutual respect, fun!,
  • Proven history and full understanding of holding cost of goods to projected goals.
  • Stable employment history and a minimum of 2 years experience. A culinary arts degree with multiple facets of pastry and baking experiences preferred.
  • Experience working with multiple (many) vendors and local farmers simultaneously.
  • Willing and able to work as a part of a team. Our company structure requires you to have the ability to collaborate well and often.
  • Organized with excellent written and oral communication skills. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish a plus!
  • Proficient in Excel and working with spreadsheets.
  • Maintain hygiene and kitchen cleanliness levels above and beyond what is required by the Health Department, and ensure that food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures followed every day.
