Title: Checker Part-Time

Purpose: This position is responsible for collecting information, including ridership counts, to support required federal reporting and the scheduling and service planning process.

Reports to: Scheduling & Service Planning Supervisor

Job Functions:

• 
  Rides revenue vehicles and collects survey data through observations for on-time performance and passenger boarding and alighting activity.

• 
  Administers and accurately records results of passenger surveys and route surveys.

• 
  Performs other duties as assigned.

Recommended Preparation for Employment:

Employee must be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions. Must be able to work with little supervision and have excellent customer relation skills. Must be able to develop an understanding of MTA operations and policies within a reasonable amount of time. Must be able to achieve competency in use of handheld tablet and any other tools used for data collection within a reasonable amount of time.
