Summit Medical Group has an excellent opportunity for a Charge Coding Coordinator who is also a Certified Professional Coder (CPC). This is a full-time opportunity.

Certification: CPC or CPC-A required
Experience: Prefer one year coding experience in a medical office setting

About Our Career Opportunity

Responsibilities: (List does not include all duties assigned)
- Posts patient charges and payments to the billing system for assigned site locations, using appropriate codes (ICD-10 / CPT).
- Makes corrections to billing information, as appropriate.
- Balance charges and payments posted and reconcile scheduled appointments to encounters.
- Maintain acceptable performance metrics to ensure superior quality of charge submission.
- Review charges for appropriate high risk coding.
- Maintains knowledge of carrier specific coding requirements and edits.
- Attends training and other meetings as appropriate; keeps current on revisions related to coding and computer skills.
- Cross-trains other staff in charge entry functions, skills, and updates, as coordinated with the Department Manager.
- Assists with filling in for charge entry staff as needed when site staff positions are vacant or staff is out on vacation or medical leave.
- Maintains work area in neat and orderly manner.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality both internally and externally.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities. Each employee will contribute to the continual evaluation site performance as well as the implementation and measurement of improvement activities that increase the quality of care provided to patients.
- Maintains CPC certification.
Education:
High school diploma. Additional vocational or college credits required
Certification: CPC or CPC-A required
