Community Associations Institute of Southern Colorado, a Colorado Springs based non-profit association, seeks a Chapter Administrator to facilitate all the behind the scenes needs of a growing organization. The association is a Chapter of an international association and currently has a membership of approximately 275 members, volunteers and business partners that live in, manage, and work for local area Homeowners Associations.
Job Summary: The Chapter Administrator reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for implementing the Chapter’s mission and goals, directing the daily activities, and overall administration of Chapter operations. The Chapter Administrator must possess well-developed interpersonal communication skills and a capacity to build and maintain relationships with Chapter volunteers, parallel organizations, our various members, government, media, and other interests. The Chapter Administrator is often the face of the Chapter and should work to promote the growth and inclusion of all current, new, and potential members.

- Self-starter with strong communication, administrative, motivational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Work effectively with volunteers, committee, and board members.
- Project management, financial management and supervision.
- Time-management, event planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to utilize various membership management systems.
- Open to consider, brainstorm, and implement or delegate the implementation of various projects to improve the overall organization.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while considering strategic initiatives and objectives.
- Must have a workspace at home and be able to plan, travel to, attend and direct chapter events and meetings in the Colorado Springs area.
- Physical ability to move moderately heavy boxes and materials.
- Have a working knowledge of office technology, including application of computer programs; web-site development and HTML experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in basic accounting, developing and maintaining a budget and producing monthly financials. Have a working knowledge of Quick Books
- Candidates must write well, be able to communicate, delegate, coordinate, and perform chapter work effectively.
- Prior experience in with community associations/HOAs, fundraising, public relations, membership relations, financial management or marketing is a plus.
About Community Associations Institute Southern Colorado Chapter:
- The CAI Southern Colorado Chapter (CAI SOCO) has just under 300 members and is growing. Incorporated in 1982, CAI SOCO has maintained a relatively even balance of Community Association Managers, Homeowner Volunteer Leaders (Board Members) and Business Partners. As a nonprofit 501(c)(6) organization and as a Chapter of CAI, CAI SOCO is governed by a Board of Directors. The Chapter Administrator (CA) works directly with the Board to accomplish our primary purpose of providing Continuing Education to Community Association Managers, Board Members, and community stakeholders, and to provide networking with service providers that all communities need.
Requirements for Consideration:
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience; a Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation is preferred. Two to five years of prior experience in a management position is required with a preference for prior experience in non-profit association, trade group management, or community management.
