Prairie View, a Behavioral and Mental Health Facility, is recruiting for a Chaplain on a part-time basis for our Newton location. This is an hourly, 16-hour per week position. In this role, the Chaplain will respond to request from patient's for pastoral or spiritual services.

Minimum Credentials:

• Clergy ordination, license, or commission; denominational endorsement.

Minimum Experience:

• One year of work experience in mental health, institutional, or local church ministry preferred.

Duties:

• To foster a supportive spiritual context for persons and families in crisis, through the availability of spiritual resources, both within Prairie View and through natural religious and community support networks in the patient’s community. Flexible schedule needed.

Prairie View, Inc. is a Behavioral & Mental Health facility located in Newton, KS. Just a short 20 minute drive from the Wichita area and situated just off the beaten path, yet close enough to the conveniences of the city, Prairie View’s accredited campus in Newton, boasts of nearly 80 acres of natural Kansas plain. A number of evidence-based mental health services are provided, including hospitalization, outpatient services, a community support program, an adventure course, an accredited special purpose school and more.

Prairie View’s additional outpatient locations in Hillsboro, McPherson and Wichita provide services to children, adolescents, adults and older adults for a complete range of behavioral and mental health issues including, depression, anxiety, stress, anger, dementia, sexuality related issues, grief, cognitive disorders, alcohol and substance abuse issues, family and marriage issues and more.

Prairie View is accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services. Prairie View is also a member of Mennonite Health Services, an organization that brings Anabaptist-related health and human service providers together.
