Central Admissions Coordinator
Job description

We manage the inquiry and admission process for all Avalon Healthcare facilities in one Central Admissions location. Providing customers and patients with facility-related information, while coordinating care plans and admission opportunities with our facilities. Like matching puzzle pieces that help people find the services and care they need for themselves or family members.
- Verify information or inquiries received by referral sources such as hospitals, families, nurses and communicating care orders and patient needs to coordinating facilities.
- Request & review patient orders and paperwork needed to complete admission process from families, other healthcare providers and insurance companies.
- Use of computer to perform electronic messaging and data input.
- Provide proof of high school diploma or higher level of education
- Experience working in previous healthcare setting, knowledge of medical billing, patient care or admissions process preferred, high desire to provide excellent customer service required.
- 1 year experience in general medicine or related field such as CNA, MA, LPN, Medical Reception, Medical Coordinator or SNF/LTC experience preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
- Ability to deal effectively problem solving and to provide excellent customer service.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and general insurance preferred.
- Able to identify potential barriers and problem solve quickly.
- Ability to work flexible hours, as admission responsibilities may dictate. Monday - Friday, some weekends rotating with the team. Rotating holidays.
- Must be self-motivated and goal directed.
