Job description
Universal Intermodal is seeking a full-time Gate Inspector/Yard Switcher for our Charleston, SC facility. A CDL A is required for this position.
The right individual must be willing to work outside in the elements year-round, have good attention to detail, and be capable of being physically active. This individual will perform ingoing and outgoing inspections on chassis and containers in yard. Yard switcher experience is a plus, but not required.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
Climb/maneuver in and out of containers to inspect for damages
Be able to familiarize yourself with both chassis and container components
Enforce yard safety and safety regulations
Provide basic data entry accuracy
Be willing and capable to work outside year-round.
Shifts:
Shift 1 0400-1230 (8 Hrs with 30 min lunch)
Shift 2 1230-2100 (8 Hrs with a 30 min lunch)
