SUMMARY

Under basic supervision, keeps accurate records of food service revenue transactions.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Collects fees for food service, inputs funds to food service accounts, balances and reconciles cash sales to money collected at end of each day; maintains records and completes daily reports.
• Charges food service meals, and performs cashier duties according to MPS policies.
• Assists with supervising students, preparing and packaging food, and cleaning the food service and dining areas; assists other MPS staff as requested.
• Supports the relationship between the Minot Public School District and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with clients, visitors, and District staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and District information; follows compliance rules governing child abuse; performs related duties as required or assigned.

Education, Training and Experience Guidelines High School diploma or GED equivalent; some customer service work experience is preferred.

Knowledge of:

• MPS policies and procedures.
• Basic arithmetic and bookkeeping methods.
• Safety and sanitation practices for maintaining and cleaning food distribution and storage areas.
• Personal computers utilizing standard and specialized software applications.

Skill in:

• Monitoring lunchroom operations, and enforcing student compliance with MPS policies.
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers.
• Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

A valid North Dakota State Driver’s License may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in various MPS food preparation and distribution facilities.
