Job description

We’re seeking a Cashier to manage our cash register and ensure fast checkouts. Cashier duties include processing payments, refunds and doing basic math calculations. We’re looking for someone who is highly organized and comfortable operating cash registers. You will be responsible for taking customer payments and providing receipts for the transactions. The goal is to improve customers' shopping experience, as well as maximize sales by offering product suggestions. Ultimately, your role is to provide excellent customer service by maintaining a friendly environment that gets people through the checkouts quickly.

Responsibilities:

• Handle transactions and refunds by using POS registers and credit cards.
• Check the quality of products and accept or decline returns.
• Answer customer queries about payments and their accounts .
• Assist customers in locating items on shelves.
• Keeps records of sales, discounts and coupons offered.
• Keeps records of top-selling products and makes recommendations to customers.
• Responsible for keeping cash drawers stocked with cash and coins.
• Stock shelves by taking out old or expired products and putting in new ones.
• Processes cash register receipts, including counting the money, sorting it according to denominations, issuing change, verifying total amount.
• Inspects cash drawer to verify that all bills are in sequence, count the bills and match them with the bank deposit slip.
• Makes sure that all checks are properly endorsed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
