Job description
This nine day position is located at the Fairgrounds in Calhan from July 15th - July 22nd and has an anticipated work schedule between 8:30am and 9:30pm.
Performs clerical duties for the County Fair, to include collecting payments, issuing tickets, stamping visitors for re-entry, monitoring visitor entry, and responding to visitor requests for information.
- Provides excellent customer service to fair customers and assists County employees, board members, and volunteers.
- Works outside and at ticket/entry booths, including collecting payments, issuing tickets, stamping visitors for re-entry, and monitoring visitor entry.
- Shares County Fair information with customers and responds to visitor requests.
- Follows established cash-handling procedures.
- Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must possess a positive and friendly attitude.- Must be able to work long hours, evenings, and weekends for the duration of the fair and training.
- Ability to operate point of sale (POS) system/cash register including computers, electronic scanners, or related equipment.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with co-workers, other County personnel, and the public.
- A flexible team player with the ability to work successfully in a changing environment.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Cash handling experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Must pass conditional post offer background investigation and drug screen.
Duties are performed in a ticket booth and outdoors, sometimes in high volume stressful situations. May be required to work long hours, evenings, and weekends. This is a temporary position typically not to exceed five months.
