We are growing and seeking an experienced, energetic, solutions-oriented Carrier Sales Representative in Palatine, Illinois! The Carrier Sales will source and secure carriers to move freight in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Essential Job Duties

• Promptly secure top service providers to pickup and deliver a high volume of customer goods, while maintaining services as defined by customers
• Develop new and grow existing carrier relationships; cold calling prospective trucking companies
• Build strong relationships with trucking company decision makers contacts
• Leverage technology and data to make informed decisions and improve efficiency
• Ensure shipment details are accurately recorded in our TMS
• Negotiate carrier prices/rates
• Clarify load requirements with carriers and confirm they have proper information to pick-up and deliver customer goods efficiently
• Proactively follow up with the dispatcher and driver time to time to ensure load is picked up and delivered on time
• Ensure all parties are informed of route changes, delays, freight concerns or other issues as necessary
• Schedule pickup and delivery appointment times; use discretion and insight when considering all factors affecting timeframe, including weather, traffic, miles, service rules, etc.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience working in Carrier Sales
• 2+ years of experience working for a logistics trucking transportion company
• Excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable with a fast paced environment, with a strong sense of urgency
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and can turn what some may view as chaos, into fun
• Ability to quickly pivot from one task to another and reprioritize throughout the day
• Excellent customer service, communication, and negotiation skills
• Collaborative team player and relationship builder
• Eager to learn and open to different methods of execution
• Enjoys problem solving and puzzles
• Proficient in MS Office, emphasis in Excel
• Strong typing skills
• Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English in a professional manner

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience working in Carrier Sales
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
• Tech-savvy
• Bilingual, English/Spanish
