Position Description:

Nevada Gold Mines is looking for a Process Carbon Handling Tech to join the Process Carbon handling team.

The Process Carbon handler will ensure safe and efficient operation of various processing circuits/equipment including but not limited to: carbon-in-leach, elution (carbon), boilers, reagent handling, electrowinning, retort/induction furnaces, solution balance, sample collection, data recording, retrieval of sample data, proper handling of potentially hazardous chemicals, monitoring/controlling water and slurry flows, reagent addition, pumps, valves, piping and other equipment, making calculations and adjustments as needed to maintain operating parameters within limits. Inspect and check all other components of operating systems and equipment regularly. Maintain housekeeping and circuit cleanliness to ensure safe operation.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Process Supervisor, the Carbon Handling Technician is responsible for the following:

• Train on all equipment in Zadra .
• Communicate daily operations with carbon handling supervisor. Communicate daily with Mill operators in movement of regenerated and loaded carbon.
• Operate pumps and valves and monitor water and carbon bin levels.
• Respond to emergencies that could cause injury or loss of production.
• Follow procedures that utilize equipment and instruments critical to monitoring process performance.
• Train lower level technicians.
• Attach lockout devices correctly to electrical equipment during maintenance for the purpose of de-energizing equipment and ensuring employee safety as outlined in the company procedure.
• Regenerating carbon in the Zadra Kiln at required temperatures.
• Maintain accurate records for metallurgical accounting and process control. Maintain accurate record of Batch, Shift, and ounces produces for daily reports. Accurately record loaded, stripped and regenerated carbon.
• Complete operator reports and time cards accurately.
• Identify preventative maintenance needs to prevent loss to personnel, property and process by observing machinery and equipment. Report any mechanical, electrical or instrumentation repairs as needed.
• Be able to work as needed on holidays and weekends.
• Collect carbon samples for metallurgical accounting and process control.
• Comply with state and federal safety and health regulations, company policies and procedures and the company's environmental compliance policy.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment.
• Assist HCL, Caustic and Sulfuric Acid drivers, checking paperwork prior to unloading and serving as safety watch.

• Running the strip sequence properly by monitoring flows, temperatures and pressures
• Monitor Boilers systems

Qualifications:

• Operate carbon pumps and dewatering screens. Open and close valves for water and carbon. Monitor and maintain water levels on push water tank.
• Collect carbon samples for metallurgical accounting and process control.
• Monitor stripped carbon being regenerated through the kiln, watching temperatures and carbon levels in the carbon bins.
• Work with AARL operator in moving regenerated, loaded, and stripped carbon.
• Operate a forklift to unload new carbon, move totes, and assist with loading of fine carbon bags.
• Attach lockout devices correctly to electrical equipment during maintenance for the purpose of de-energizing equipment and ensuring employee safety as outlined in the company procedure.
• Operate an assay machine to get a profile of preg and barren solutions for gold and silver.
• Communicate daily with Mill operators in movement of regenerated and loaded carbon.
• Check paperwork of driver prior to unloading caustic, HCL, and sulfuric acid and serve as safety watch
• Comply with state and federal safety and health regulations, company policies and procedures and the company's environmental compliance policy.
• Operate a computer and related software for record keeping.
