BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The shift Captain shall be sworn firefighting position. Upon acceptance of this position the selected applicant shall pass an NFPA 1583 physical and will be required to pass this physical annually along with passing the required annual physical assessments. The captain shall be responsible for a crew of 2 additional Firefighter/EMT-Basics and shall aid volunteers in the assigned area. The captain shall assure that the crew and volunteers conduct training, maintain stations and apparatus, complete incident reports, public relations, all other required documentation, and all other duties as assigned by the Fire Chief or designee. The captain shall be responsible to coordinate with the on-duty Battalion Chief to assure adequate staffing is available for emergency response. This position will work a 48 hour on duty/96 hour off duty schedule.
