We are seeking a Calibration Technician team member for our client site in Groton, CT. The successful candidate will have outstanding industrial facility instrumentation maintenance skills and will be committed to working with others to deliver best in class, unparalleled excellence in customer service and satisfaction.

  • Typical work hours are 7:00 am-3:30 pm; hours may vary based on business demand.

  • Hiring hourly range: 30-34/hr (hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data).

As the Calibration Technician, your daily duties for this role will include:

  • Responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventative and general maintenance on controls supporting manufacturing and research-based systems.

  • Supporting a monthly workload and working with other technicians to ensure satisfactory completion of workload.

  • Identifying and correcting any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.

  • Completing scheduled preventative maintenance work activities, corrective maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting at the direction of the technical lead on scales, pressure, and gas monitors.

  • Working on analog and digital control systems including maintenance on microprocessor, electronic, and pneumatic instrumentation, control systems, including pressure, temperature, flow sensors, and associated alarm circuits.

  • Assuring calibration of instrumentation, equipment, and controls.

  • Developing a good working relationship with other technicians for effective troubleshooting and repair of equipment and systems.

  • Utilizing strong mechanical and electrical skills.

  • Responding and providing feedback to the customer on work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Recommending measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.

  • Analyzing and resolving work problems and assisting workers.

  • Understanding company policies and enforcing safety regulations.

  • Performing functions of the position safely, including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Operating a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware.

  • Maintaining a strict schedule to be successful in the assignment.

  • Performing all other duties as assigned by Management or Lead.

As the Calibration Technician, you will be expected to:

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

  • 4 years of experience in industrial facility instrumentation maintenance or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Basic knowledge of O2, CO2, CO, gases, and variations of LEL with an ability to recognize sensor faults versus real conditions to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Basic knowledge of P&ID’s, electrical, and control drawings.

  • Ability to perform tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity.

  • Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.

  • Must be willing to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and alternative work schedules.

  • Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.

  • Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident.

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

Some physical/special requirements include:

  • Regularly lift to 50 lbs.

  • Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding

  • Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement.

  • Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

  • Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions

  • Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.

Pfizer Site Requirement:

All employees and contractors working at a Pfizer site must be fully vaccinated against covid-19 by November 15, 2021, unless there is an approved medical or religious exemption. “Fully vaccinated” is defined as receiving the full dose therapy of an EUA approved COVID-19 vaccine and being 14 days post the completion of the required dose regimen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Electronics or Instrument Controls Technology.

  • Experience with a CMMS environment, preferably EAMS.
