Job Summary:

The Buyer facilitates the procurement of company supplies and services. The Buyer will perform a wide variety of buying assignments, which require experience and knowledge of vendors, delivery and price. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and will work from our Shawnee, KS office.

Responsibilities:

You will make an impact in the following way:

Process requisitions, research products, and clarifies specifications.

Follow up on back orders, help to expedite delivery of orders, and make special arrangements for delivery when necessary.

Research and select vendors in given circumstances, evaluate vendor performance, and utilize different vendor sources to fill orders based on knowledge of commodity.

Maintain an updated filing system on pricing and vendors to ensure immediate and accurate access to information.

Search out alternate vendors or supplies during periods of shortages or stockouts.

Required Skills and Experience

What you will bring:

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Economics, Business, or a related field with 1-3 years of experience in buying for a manufacturing organization.

Skills

Background knowledge in cost analytics, SAP use preferred, and well-developed organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
