A locally owned Scotch-Irish pub in the Historical Downtown District.

A busser/dishwasher acts as an assistant to both the front of the house and the back of the house. They make sure servers can focus on the diners, and the cooks can focus on making sure that food comes out in a speedy manner. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for dishware, silverware, and cooking utensils is essential. Working in this role is a great way to gain valuable experience in the industry and offers a foundation for those looking to become line cooks or servers.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Clean and reset tables for the next service, check chairs and the floor and clean as required.
• Take dirty dishes to either of the dish stations at the bar and deliver full dish bins to the dish washing room downstairs.
• Replace full bus tubs and silverware buckets with new ones. Assist servers with as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and at peak times.
• Assist guests to the best of your abilities, if you don’t know the answer to a question or if something needs to be ordered, notify the server immediately.
• Communicate clearly with both servers and cooks.
• Make sure diner’s water glasses are full.
• Clean dishes and silverware. Rewash soiled dishes.
• Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas.
• Multitask constantly while moving at a hustled pace.
• Arrive punctually, in a complete, clean uniform.
• Carrie out any task or job suggested by managers or those that are necessary to keep our standards of quality and cleanliness.

$8.50-9/hr starting wage + cash tip out (which usually adds $1-2.50/hr)

Pay: $9.00 - $10.00 per hour
