Job Summary

The Health Information Technology & Services (HITS) department, Enterprise Data and Information Services (EDIS) division is seeking a senior or intermediate level Business Intelligence Analyst to support the Department of Internal Medicine’s Clinical Experience & Quality (IMCEQ) data needs. The IMCEQ team provides oversight of Department of Internal Medicine clinical operations and quality/patient safety initiatives designed to enhance the clinical experience and quality of patient care.

This position has direct reporting to the Manager of Departmental Information Delivery with functional direction from IMCEQ. The assigned work will include dashboard development and quality improvement data project support for the IMCEQ program and its 13 divisions. The candidate will work closely with the program’s continuous improvement specialists and faculty leads to develop data solutions and provide data expertise.

Responsibilities*

Design, develop, implement, and maintain dashboards, reports, and extracts sourced from the required EPIC MiChart application areas, and/or other data sources in support of clinical or business functions.
Develop data marts to aid in the support of dashboards or extracts.
Provide data extracts for both ad hoc and project needs on a timely basis.
Provide end user reporting and analytics issue troubleshooting, performance improvement, and support.
Work with other HITS resources and end users to identify improvements to the electronic medical record system to better capture data needed for QI and clinical care improvement.
Manage day-to-day activities including prioritizing tasks, communicating with customers, team members, and other developers.

Work Schedule / Location

Please note that occasional on-site presence will be required for selected meetings, etc. Flexible work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change based on the business needs of the hiring department, throughout the course of employment.
Required Qualifications*

BS/BA or greater in Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
3-5 years of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications*

Certification in an Epic clinical data model is highly desired
Experience with Tableau Desktop and data visualization
Experience with Crystal Reports
Experience with SQL
MS/MA in Computer Science, Mathematics, Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Familiarity with healthcare operations and/or electronic medical record terminology
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally to clients, peers, management, and vendors. Candidates must also be able to communicate business requirements to technical staff and technical concepts to business staff, demonstrate a high tolerance for complexity and ambiguity as well as the ability to identify tasks and complete them with limited supervision
Ability to adhere to processes, team coding, and maintenance standards, including writing specifications documentation
Ability to function effectively as a member of a cross-functional team in a matrixed environment
Epic proficiency required, with the expectation to become certified within a reasonable timeframe

Background Screening
