Job Description:
This individual will be responsible for monitoring economic and market trends, as well as analyze data to assist with the development and implementation of RaceTrac’s price, cost and promotional price related tactics. The Analyst will work closely with members from various teams at RaceTrac including Merchandising, Marketing, Information Systems, and Operations to implement this strategy. This individual will be expected to perform statistical analysis, correlation analysis, and data manipulation.
Responsibilities:

• Maximizes inside store profitability through data-driven analysis and evaluation of functionality, highlighting areas for improvement and expected benefit of pricing (EDLP, promotion or exit strategy) and cost-based strategies.
• Conducts market research, maintains competitive database of competition prices, and analyzes opportunities for system improvement to optimize analyst-system interaction.
• Manages the revenue management process/systems by leading troubleshooting and incident resolution.
• Provides training of all revenue management systems/solutions in order to meet current and future business needs.
• Serves as subject matter expert of RaceTrac’s revenue management processes and demonstrate expertise in analytical tools such as Excel, to effectively execute strategies and tactics.
• Creates and distributes reports to Senior Leadership on key strategic initiatives/products, as well as tactical reactions to changing conditions. Provides regular updates to management on these key initiatives/products via trading meeting, regular updates, etc.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in statistics, business analysis or strategy development
• 2+ years of pricing and revenue management experience preferred
• Excellent understanding of retail business operations and system functionality/interaction
