Haley Ward is looking for a Building Design Service Line Director for our Bangor, Maine office to provide overall leadership supervising activities of Structural Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP), Architecture, and Interior Design using corporate policies, assuring quality and value of professional services. The Building Design Service Line Director is responsible for the effective management and financial performance of all operations of the group.

What you can expect to be doing:
- Maintaining general supervision over all activities to ensure technical and financial competence of the Building Design group.
- Analyzing fiscal requirements of the group, including staffing, equipment, and related needs; and preparing budgetary recommendations and business metrics for the group.
- Negotiating favorable contract terms with clients having in mind profitability and controlled minimum exposure to liability.
- Managing various human resource functions, including, but not limited to:
- maintaining group efficiencies
- annual performance evaluations
- salary position recommendations
- employee development, including reviewing staff members’ professional and personal goals, coordinating with firm’s goals, and guiding their involvement within the group, along with continuing education opportunities, toward attaining the goals.
- mentoring staff in technical competence, team building, process improvement, and client relations.
- Planning and scheduling work ensuring the proper and effective distribution of assignments and manpower, space, and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.
- Developing marketing and business development plans, in coordination with the COO, Discipline Leads, Marketing Director, and CEO.
What you will need to succeed:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline required.
- Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices relating to appropriate discipline.
- Progressive ability, capacity, and aptitude in administration to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate technical work and to obtain cooperation from others.
- Valid professional license required in appropriate discipline with minimum of fifteen years' experience in a technical, project management capacity, or supervisory role or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Effective manager of people with the ability to inspire, lead, communicate, support, and mentor.
A criminal background check and driving record check will be conducted.
